Hearty congratulations are in order for my good friend and colleague, Ben Vinson III, and the trustees of Howard University who have selected him to be the university’s next president.
I have had the pleasure of working closely with Ben as a trustee of the National Humanities Center, especially since he assumed leadership of the Center’s board in 2018. He is one of the most personable, thoughtful, and gifted academic leaders I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and I’m delighted to see that Howard has recognized those qualities, as well.
